CCCOE Ratifies Reopeners!

Congratulations to our members from CCCOE! On April 25, 2019, our members overwhelmingly voted YES to ratify their reopeners!

Changes to the contract include:

Article 1 (Agreement): Changes the “notice month” from June to November for limited reopener negotiations to commence in the second and third years of the contract.

Article 8 (Union Organizational Security): Aligns Union membership parameters with current law.

Article 12 (Evaluation): Adds a requirement that the evaluator must have a conversation with the employee prior to any negative comment being written into an evaluation.

Article 17 (Benefits): The County Office (effective 7/1/19) will commence paying (in full) the Single Kaiser Rate Premium (or equivalent) across all medical plans.

Article 18 (Salaries): Effective 7/1/18, the Classified Salary Schedule shall be increased by three percent (3%) for all employees employed during the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

Relative to translation services, such services will not include participation in IEP meetings.


1) The “Me Too Clause” has been renewed for the period 7/1/16-6/30/19.

(If another bargaining unit receives an increase in total compensation, Local One shall receive the equivalent in total compensation).

2) A compensation/classification study will be completed by an outside consultant (retained by the County Office) during the 2019-2020 fiscal year. Local One will be invited to meet with said consultant to provide input. The County Office and Local One will also meet and confer on the results at the conclusion of the study. The study findings will be non-binding.
