SPECIAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING — TAKING ACTION ON BOARD OF SUPERVISOR’S 33% RAISE

Published on: November 13, 2014

On November 4th, 2014, the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors put themselves first by passing an ordinance to increase their salaries by 33% ($32,000). By pegging their salaries at 70% of the salary of a Superior Court Judge, the Supervisors not only gave themselves a massive raise, they have created a situation in which there would be no more public business in Contra Costa County regarding the Supervisors salaries. No transparency, just automatic raises.

Local 1 was there on November 4th to demonstrate the outrage felt by public employees and citizens of Contra Costa County. If you’re angry, you’re not alone.
