Dear Contra Costa County Members,

Yesterday and into the evening, your bargaining team met with representatives from the County. After a long fought battle at the table, we have come to a tentative agreement that provides, in part, for:

4% increase effective the first day of the month following ratification;

3% effective 7/1/17;

3% effective 7/1/18 (Except CSB, which will have a salary reopener in late 2017).

$1000 ratification payment for permanent active employees, including project employees. Permanent active part-time employees to receive a pro-rated amount.

$200 ratification payment for active permanent-intermittent employes.

Establishes three-tier health plan structure with substantial savings for members. Coalition healthcare subsidy rates for 2017 plus an increased subsidy for Kaiser Plan B.

Additionally, with the substantial savings our members will see for healthcare, the County has agreed to provide a special open enrollment period following ratification. Your team fought hard for these increases and are proud to present this agreement to you.

We will be holding informational meetings and scheduling the ratification vote for before the end of the year. This will ensure that both salary increases and the County’s increased healthcare contributions take effect as soon as possible.

In Unity,

Your 2016 Contra Costa County Bargaining Team
